Valid Canadian passport holders do not need a visa to travel to Japan for up to 90 days for tourism or short term business purpose(not including any remunerative activities).

Canadian travel document holders need a visa by In-person.

Important Rules for Visa Applicants

●You can request an appointment by e-mail (click HERE), if the purpose of visit Japan is one of the followings:

(1)Working Holiday Visa
(2)Work/Study Visa with COE (Certificate of Eligibility)
(3)Visiting Relatives/Friends (Visiting spouse, blood relatives/relatives by affinity within the
third degree Visiting friends/acquaintances)
(4)Short-Term Business Affairs (Attending meetings/conferences, business
communication, business negotiation, aftersales service, marketing, Cultural exchange,
Sports exchange, etc.)
(5) Canadian Travel Document Holders

●We will only accept visa applications from those who reside in Ontario(except Ottawa area) with a valid long term status in Canada (Study Permit, Work Permit, or PR card).
 
●Visitors in Canada must apply for a visa in your own country.

All applicants must come in person except for minor children. 
 
We strongly recommend NOT purchasing your flight ticket before your visa has been approved.  You can submit a screenshot printout of your planned flight itinerary instead of an actual paid flight ticket.
 
●For a single entry Temporary Visitor Visa or Transit Visa, you can only apply within 3 months of your planned travel date.
 
●We will keep your documents including your original passport during the visa process for an in-person application.
 
●Please do NOT use staples on the application forms/documents.
 
●Visa processing time could take up to 10 business days.  Some cases could take longer.  Please plan your trip accordingly.
 
●The count of the duration of stay on a visa starts from the following day of arrival in Japan (Example: If you enter Japan on January 1 and leave Japan on January 16, your stay is "15 days", not "16 days.”).
 
●Visa pick up hours are from 9am to 12pm, or 1:30pm to 3pm on weekdays.
 
●Japan does not officially require a passport to be valid for 6 months. It is strongly recommended your passport to be valid for the entire duration of your visit. If you have a temporary passport, emergency passport or other type of travel document, please contact us in advance.
