Online Visa Application (Japan eVISA for a single entry for tourism only)

Visas will not be issued during the upcoming holidays. (DEC 25, 2025 - JAN 4, 2026)
NOTICE:
eVISA processing time could take up to 20 business days.
There is no expedited service.
Please be sure to apply well in advance, yet not earlier than 3 months from your planned entry date.
The following purposes and conditions are EXCLUDED from online application:
❌Transiting through Japan to third countries or to Canada
❌Visiting family or friends in Japan
❌Applying for a double-entry or multiple-entry visa
❌Business trips (business meeting, conference, seminar etc)
❌School trips
❌Those who have already departed for another country
❌Those who have been convicted of a crime/offence, or deported etc.
❌Applying with a non-ordinary passport such as Canadian Travel Document etc.
❌Applying for a long term visa
❌Visiting Japan by ship
Typical Documents need to be uploaded for Japan eVISA:
-Valid passport(a clear image of the photo page)
-1 recent passport size photo(taken within the last 6 months) for the application form
-Valid Study Permit/Work Permit/PR card (has to be valid until the date you return to Canada)
Visitors to Canada must apply in your home country
-Proof of residency in Ontario(e.g. Ontario Driver’s licence, Ontario photo card, lease/rental agreement, Confirmation of enrolment etc.)
-The entire flight itinerary from Ontario to your final destination (One way flight info to Japan is NOT acceptable)
-Schedule of stay with detailed activities in Japan as well as hotel name/phone number/addresses
-The last 2-month of bank statements with your name and sufficient funds clearly shown. (Funds deposited or e-transferred just recently are not accepted. Credit card statements are NOT acceptable.)*
In some cases, we will also request recent pay slips or an employment letter issued within the last 3 months.
*If the trip expenses will be covered by an immediate family member, the following documents are also required:
・Financial explanation/guarantee letter signed by the family member
・The family member’s photo ID copy
・Proof of kinship(e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate)
・The family member’s bank statements with sufficient funds
