Welcome Reception for the Delegation of the Mayor and the Speaker of City Council of Sagamihara

On October 16 (Wed.), a reception was held at the official residence of the Consul-General of Japan in Toronto to welcome Mayor Motomura Kentaro and City Councillors of Sagamihara, Toronto’s Partnership City in Japan. The reception was attended by about 40 guests, including Toronto City Councillors, a Member of Provincial Parliament, and others involved in exchanges with Sagamihara. At the outset, Consul-General Matsunaga Takeshi gave remarks, welcoming the delegation and expressing hope that the friendship between the cities will deepen even further. Ontario MPP Mary-Margaret McMahon and Toronto Councillor Paul Ainslie also gave remarks, each recalling the friendship and exchanges between Sagamihara and Toronto that have been nurtured for 33 years, and expressing their desire to further strengthen the relationship between the two cities.
