On Nov. 3, Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito attended the opening of the Holocaust Education Week 2019 in Toronto. This event was also attended by Mr. Nobuki Sugihara, the fourth son of Mr. Chiune Sugihara, the late Japanese diplomat known for saving a great number of lives by issuing visas to Japan to Jewish refugees in Kaunas, Lithuania. Mr. Nobuki Sugihara spoke on some of the memories he had of his father.
