The CJCC holds classes on various aspects of Japanese culture, including the Japanese language, ikebana flower arranging, martial arts and more. In this way, it has contributed toward greater understanding of Japanese culture among Canadians. The CJCC also hosts a variety of Japan-related events, strengthening friendship and goodwill between japan and Canada. It was awarded the Commendation due to such contributions.
