Consul-General Ito Attends The Opening Ceremony of Itabashi Garden

the opening of Itabashi Garden which marked the 30th anniversary of the sister-city relations between the two communities.

On July 1, Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito attended the opening ceremony of Itabashi Garden in Burlington and gave congratulatory remarks. The Garden was built by the City of Burlington in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the sister-city relations between Burlington and Itabashi. Remarks were also given by Her Worship Mayor Marianne Meed Ward of Burlington, Mayor Takeshi Sakamoto of Itabashi, Itabashi City Assembly President Yoshiyuki Motoyama, and Ms. Virginia Burt who designed Itabashi Garden.

On the same day, Consul-General Ito attended the Canada Day celebration being held in Burlington along with the eight members of the delegation from Itabashi.

 

Consul-General Ito in her remarks says sister-city exchanges are a gift coming from the support of the citizens.
