On May 25, the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto took part in Anime North, the biggest Japanese pop culture event in Canada, to promote tourism to Japan with the help of the Japan National Tourism Organization. Over 200 people filled the room where the presentation was held, with standing room only by the end. A tourism promotional video for Tokyo was screened, and to boost the spirit in anticipation of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Tokyo Gorin Ondo 2020 (“Tokyo Five Rings Dance”) was taught and danced with the attendees.

A presentation by the Japan National Tourism Organization’s Mr. Andrew Massey.

The venue was filled to capacity.

The Urara Mimbu-kai dancers joined Anime North attendees to dance the Tokyo Gorin Ondo 2020.

Cosplayers provided plenty of photo opportunities.
