On May 26, the Ohara School of Ikebana Toronto Chapter’s 45th Anniversary Floral Exhibition was held at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. Ms. Tomoko Ohyama, Consul of the Consulate-General of Japan, attended the event and read a message from the Consul-General Takako Ito. This event, an official commemorative event of the 90th Anniversary of Canada-Japan Diplomatic Relations, welcomed Mr. Hirokazu Yokohigashi, Professor of the Ohara School of Ikebana’s Council of Ohara Professors, from Japan to give a demonstration. He produced over 10 pieces for the exhibit through his demonstration, and the finale featured a work which utilized both the Japanese and the Canadian maple, commemorating the 90th anniversary.
