Commemorative Ceremony for the 60th Anniversary of the Sakura Donation to High Park and the Enthronement of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan

On April 28 (Sun.) starting at noon, the Consulate-General of Japan and the City of Toronto will co-host a Commemorative Ceremony for the 60th Anniversary of the Sakura Donation to High Park and the Enthronement of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. This ceremony will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Sakura trees donated to the park in 1959 by the citizens of Tokyo, and will see the planting of new trees in hope of further development of the already fruitful friendship between Toronto and Japan.
Performances by the traditional Japanese music ensemble Ten Ten and the Sakuramai dance troupe are also scheduled as part of the ceremony.

Place: Beside Hillside Gardens in High Park (across from the Grenadier Restaurant)
