“Tokyo Gorin Ondo 2020” at Georgian College in Barrie

2019/3/30

On March 22, a team from the Consulate-General of Japan visited Georgian College in Barrie to participate in the school’s Come Together Week with Japanese culture programming. Visitors learned the “Tokyo Gorin Ondo 2020”, a dance which promoted the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, and participated in the “hayashi” music and dance workshop. Foreign students from Japan gave demonstrations on origami and calligraphy, and there was even a kimono dressing booth. Attendants were also given an opportunity to learn about the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.
