Being Japanese Canadian Exhibit Opens at the Royal Ontario Museum

On Jan. 31, Deputy Consul-General of Japan Satoshi Ominato attended and gave remarks at the opening of "Being Japanese Canadian: reflections on a broken world", an exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum. This exhibit examines the history of Japanese Canadians during the Second World War from the personal perspectives of eight Japanese Canadian artists. Writer and storyteller Terry Watada as well as flautist Ron Korb, both of Japanese Canadian heritage, gave performances also inspired by the theme of Japanese Canadian history.
