Former President of the National Association of Japanese Canadians Presented with Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation

On Sept. 14,  a spcial presentation ceremony was held at the official residence of Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito for Mr. Kenichiro Noma,  former President of the National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC), who was among the recipients this year of the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations.  The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. The Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for the activities of the recipients. Mr. Noma was given the commendation for his service to the Japanese Canadian community and for promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Canada. In attendance at the ceremony were representatives from the NAJC, as well as Mr. Noma’s friends and family.
