Consul-General Ito Visits Kitchener and Waterloo

Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito gives a presentation at Renison University College.

Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito visited Kitchener and Waterloo on June 18 and 19, and met with Kitchener’s Mayor Berry Vrbanovic and Waterloo’s Mayor Dave Jaworsky.  She also gave a presentation on Japan’s soft power, public diplomacy and Japan-Canada relations to East Asian Studies students at Renison University College. She also visited Maple Soft, a subsidiary of Cybernet Systems Co. Ltd. in Japan, and Christie, a subsidiary of Japan’s Ushio Inc., as well as the local non-profit organization Communitech, exchanging information and views with their representatives as well as taking tours of their facilities.
