Mr. Alex Yanoshita Awarded the Consul-General’s Commendation

On March 22, Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito awarded the Consul-General’s Commendation to Mr. Alex Yanoshita of Windsor, Ontario, who was instrumental in establishing the sister-city relations between Windsor and Fujisawa in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture. Windsor and Fujisawa celebrated the 30th anniversary of their relations in 2017, and Fujisawa Mayor Tsuneo Suzuki visited Winsor in June to plant Sakura cherry trees during the commemoration ceremony.  Mr. Yanoshita also made substantial financial contributions to the Momiji Health Care Centre, where many Japanese-Canadian seniors reside.
