Japan Bowl Held as a 90th Anniversary of Japan-Canada Diplomatic Relations Commemorative Event

2018/3/22

On March 10, the first Japan Bowl in Ontario was held at Huron University College in London as one of the commemorative events of the 90th anniversary of Japan-Canada diplomatic relations. Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito was in attendance. Japan Bowl is a competition that takes the form of a game show, intended to deepen understanding of Japan and the Japanese language among high school students. The first Japan Bowl was held in 1992 in Washington DC, hosted by the Japan Society, and the competition is currently held across the United States. The Japan Bowl in London was held with the participation of six teams from five local high schools, as well as eight teams from Huron University College. Competition was heated but also a lot of fun.
