On March 16, the 7th Annual Konnichiwa Japan was hosted by the University of Toronto’s Department of East Asian Studies. The aim of the yearly event is to have mainly students of Japanese language experience the country’s culture. The Consulate-General of Japan participated by providing a sumi-e (ink drawing) workshop by celebrated artist Hiroshi Yamamoto.

Traditional Japanese dance opened the event.

A lecture on such topics as types of kimono, how to put them on, ways of matching them with obi (belts).
