The day featured screenings of Vancouver Asahi by Yuya Ishii and Being Good by Mipo O. On Jan. 14 in the same venue, a screening of Yoko The Cherry Blossom will also feature the attendance by its director Gen Takahashi.
This year marks the 90th anniversary of Japan-Canada diplomatic relations, and these screenings have been endorsed as official events marking the occasion. Videos produced in celebration of the anniversary, featuring interviews with noted individuals with strong connections to Japan and Canada, were screened in the theatre.
