Japan Studies Association of Canada Conference at the Centre for the Study of Global Japan, University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs

A presentation by Atsushi Sunami, Vice President, Professor at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS)。

From Oct. 12 through 15, the annual conference of the Japan Studies Association of Canada (JSAC) was held at the Centre for the Study of Global Japan at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs. Academics from Canada and elsewhere gave presentations and held discussions on a wide range of topics. This year’s conference marked JSAC’s 30th anniversary, and also was the first hosted by the newly established Centre from the Study of Global Japan.

There was a dinner on Oct. 13 for the scholars at the conference. Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito was in attendance and gave remarks.

At the dinner, there was also a presentation by University of Cambridge Professor John Nilsson-Wright
on the situation of North Korea and its impact on Japan and regional security.
