Japan Festival CANADA 2026 Held in Mississauga

On August 15 and 16, 2026, Japan Festival CANADA 2026, Canada's largest Japanese cultural event, was held at Celebration Square in Mississauga. The festival attracted a large number of visitors and was filled with great excitement, featuring everything from Japanese street food to traditional culture such as sumo and Bon Odori dancing, as well as pop culture including anime and cosplay.

Consul-General Matsunaga delivered remarks at the opening ceremony on August 15, paying tribute to the leadership of Her Worship  Carolyn Parrish, Mayor of Mississauga, the dedication of Mr. Teruyuki Wakasa, Chairman of Japan Festival Committee, and his colleagues, as well as the contributions of Mr. Kelly Jogina, President of the Mississauga Friendship Association, and his colleagues, who plays an important role in nurturing the sister city relationship between Mississauga and Kariya City, Japan, which marks its 45th anniversary this year.
