On December 17, Consul-General Matsunaga hosted a reception to welcome back JET Programme participants who have returned to Toronto this year after completing their tenure in Japan.

During the reception, Mr. Michal Puzio delivered a speech on behalf of the returning JET participants. Ms. Jenna Zimmer-Jhang, Executive of the JET Alumni Association Toronto Chapter, gave a welcoming address to the returnees. Ms. Daisy Wai, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism of the Province of Ontario, also attended and offered a toast. In addition to this year's returnees, former JET participants active in various fields also attended the event, sharing their experiences in Japan and their future prospects through conversations with one another.

Consul-General Matsunaga expressed his hope that the people-to-people exchanges fostered through the JET Programme will continue to contribute to the further development of relations between Japan and Canada, two countries that share common values.
