Honouring centenarians

On September 15, the Japanese Government extended tribute to Japanese centenarians living overseas. Here in Ontario, Ms. Takata Miyo, who turned 105 this year, was the recipient of this commendation.
On November 19, Akiyama Tatsuro, Vice-Consul of the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto, visited the Momiji Healthcare Society to present Ms. Takata with a certificate of commendation and commemorative gift from the Prime Minister of Japan and celebrated longevity together with her family members and friends.
