Summer Festival 2025 held at Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre of Hamilton

2025/8/14

On August 9, the Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre of Hamilton held its fourth annual Summer Festival, co-hosted with the Hamilton Chapter of the National Association of Japanese Canadians. First, a moment of silence was observed at the opening ceremony to commemorate the 80th year since the end of World War II. The festival then featured demonstrations by the center’s martial arts clubs, performances by local Japanese-Canadian musicians, and a Bon Odori dance, in which visitors enjoyed participating by dancing in a circle.

Deputy Consul-General Matsui Miho, in her opening remarks, expressed her respect for the Centre conducting invaluable activities to promote Japanese culture and commended how it has reinforced the friendship between Japan and Canada.
