Consul-General Matsunaga, who was invited to the event, expressed his sense of appreciation to the City for taking good care of the Sakura that were originally donated by citizens of Tokyo, hoping that the beautiful blossoms will continue to be loved by the citizens of Toronto. Afterwards, staff from Toronto Parks and Recreation and the High Park Nature Centre gave a tour to Mayor Chow and Consul-General Matsunaga of the Park where the Sakura were in full bloom, providing explanation on these cherry trees as well as the park’s management and ecology.
