2024 JET Programme Welcome Back Reception

On March 5, the Consul-General of Japan in Toronto Matsunaga Takeshi held a reception in honour of JET Programme participants who had returned to Toronto in 2024 after finishing their tenure in Japan.

During the reception, 2024 JET Programme Returnee Mr. Marshall Ginsler-Viner made an address on behalf of his fellow returnees. Ms. Jenna Zimmer-Jhang (JET Alumni Association Toronto Co-Chair), Ms. Bronwyn Best (MEXT Japanese Government Scholarship Alumni Association of Ontario Chair), Ms. Sian Jones (Program Manager, Asia Pacific Foundation Canada), welcomed back the participants in attendance. Also in attendance were Kakehashi Program participants and alumni.The participants shared some of their most memorable experiences of their time in Japan. The guests were especially impressed by the former participants’ close ties and affection for Japan. 

Consul-General Matsunaga conveyed his hope that the returning JET participants will continue to actively cultivate Japan-Canada relations. Click here for the summary of CG Matsunaga's speech.
