Presentation of Consul-General's Commendations to Four Ikebana Groups

On November 26, Consul-General's Commendations were presented to the Ikebana International Toronto Chapter, Ikenobo Ikebana Society in Toronto, Ohara Ikebana Toronto Chapter, and Sogetsu Ikebana Toronto Branch at the Consul-General of Japan's official residence. At the ceremony, Consul-General of Japan in Toronto Matsunaga Takeshi commended the four Ikebana-related societies for their outstanding achievements in contributing to mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and the Province of Ontario, Canada, through actively engaging in teaching the refined intricacies of the art of Japanese flower arrangements to people from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds as well as from various age groups, thereby promoting the appreciation for the beauty of flowers, peace and friendship in people’s mind.
