Issei Day at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre
On October 6, the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre hosted its annual Issei Day. Approximately 300 Japanese Canadian seniors were in attendance, of whom 60 were between the age of 90-99, and six over 100. Consul-General of Japan in Toronto Matsunaga Takeshi gave remarks, and there were performances of song, dance, and the koto. The Consulate-General of Japan provided premium sake (Born Tokusen Junmai Daiginjo) for the occasion.
