1 Message from Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto
A decade ago, the world woke up to witness an unprecedented disaster taking place in Japan. As we mark the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, the people directly affected continue to push resiliently ahead. While never forgetting what happened on March 11, 2011, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the relief supplies and donations received from the people of Ontario following this historical tragedy. On this page, we will provide information on the current status of reconstruction efforts, including the creation of “New Tohoku” which aims to create attractive and lively communities in the region.
