The Foreign Minister's Commendation was handed over to Ms. Ann Ashley

On July 31, the Foreign Minister's Commendaion was handed over to Ms. Ann Ashley, the ceremony for which was hosted by Consul-General of Japan MATSUNAGA Takeshi at his official residence.

Ms. Ashley's service to the promotion of consular and migration affairs has contributed to the friendship and goodwill between Japan and the world. This commendation was awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to express the Minister's profound respect for Ms. Ashley's remarkable achievements.

Momiji Healthcare Society was founded in 1992 by mainly Nisei (second - generation immigrants) with a vision to extend respect and gratitude to the aging first generation.  Ms. Ashley served as a chair of the board member of the Society from 2001 to 2012, then as a co-chair from 2018 to present (Issei), devoting herself for this tremendously valuable facility.   Momiji Healthcare Society plays an important role in promoting cultural exchange and holds a special place within the hearts of everyone in the community.

At the reception after the ceremony, authentic Japanese food including "Mineoka Dofu" was served by chef Sugiyama Yuji
