Consul-General Pays Courtesy Call on
Ontario Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure
On Nov. 19, Consul-General of Japan Yasunori Nakayama paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Brad Duguid, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure. The Consul-General and Minister Duguid exchanged views on possibilities of expanding economic and industrial cooperation between Japan and Ontario.
The Consul-General outlined the current activities of Japanese businesses in Ontario, and expressed hope for further support from the province. He also said that he hoped Japanese companies will participate in the upgrading of transportation infrastructure currently underway in Ontario. Minister Duguid outlined the provincial government’s efforts in trade, investment and infrastructure development. He praised local Japanese companies for their successes, and expressed hope for increased cooperation between Japan and Canada in a wide variety of fields.
