Consul-General Pays Courtesy Call on Ontario's Minister of Transportation

On April 2, Consul-General of Japan Yasunori Nakayama paid a courtesy call on Ontario Minister of Transportation Stephen Del Duca, and exchanged views on the high-speed rail construction being planned by the Government of Ontario.
Consul-General Nakayama suggested that Japan can cooperate in such construction, citing the safe high-speed rail systems in Japan such as the Shinkansen, as well as how Japanese-made cars were being used in the Union Pearson Express line due to begin operation this spring. Minister Del Duca outlined his Government’s efforts toward high-speed rail construction, expressing his desire to further study Japan’s railway system.
