Consul-General Pays Courtesy Call on Ontario Minister of Energy
On Nov. 3, Consul-General of Japan Yasunori Nakayama paid a courtesy call on The Hon. Bob Chiarelli, Ontario’s Minister of Energy, and exchanged views on the energy policies of Japan and of Ontario.
Consul-General Nakayama explained the current situation in Japan with respect to energy issues, including the country’s policies dealing with nuclear power. He also provided information on the activities in Ontario of Japanese businesses in the field of power generation and asked for the Minister’s support in this area. Minister Chiarelli gave an overview of the structure of the energy sector in Ontario, and expressed hope for further expansion of Japanese businesses here as well as for increased mutual cooperation between the two countries.
