Consul-General Nakayama Visits York University
On May 6, Consul-General of Japan Yasunori Nakayama visited York University and gave a presentation entitled "Japan's Security Policies". Students and faculty were in attendance to hear about Japan's policies on security and defence, which have always reflected the country's commitment to peace since the end of the Second World War.
After the presentation, Dr. Philip Kelly, the Director of the York Centre for Asian Research, guided the Consul-General to a location where some of the 250 Sakura trees donated in 2003 by the Sakura Project, spearhead by the Consulate-General of Japan, stood in full bloom.
