Seminars and Reception Promote the “Taste of Japan”
A seminar on sushi at "Taste of Japan"
On Feb. 26, an event titled “Taste of Japan”, consisting of seminars and a reception aimed at promoting understanding of Japanese food and food culture, was held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and co-hosted by the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto. The objective was to promote the exports of Japanese agricultural, forestry and fisheries food products..
Seminars were held on sushi, wagyu beef and sake. There were also easy to understand explanations, demonstrations (rice washing) and tastings (sake). The audiences asked a lot of questions as well as expressed their own opinions, reflecting their great interest in Japanese cuisine.
