Consul General Yamamoto Visits Vaughan

Consul General Eiji Yamamoto paid a visit to the municipality of Vaughn, just outside of Toronto, on Sept. 5, and had a fruitful meeting with Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. Vaughn is twinned with the city of Sanjo in Niigata, Japan.
The Mayor outlined the city’s work in further developing local employment opportunities and public transit system. Possibilities of further economic and business exchange between Vaughan and Japan were also discussed.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Vaughan’s relationship with Sanjo. A pen pal exchange is being planned between Woodbridge College in Vaughan and Sanjo Shogyo High School.
