Attracting Tourists at Toronto’s Ultimate Travel Show

Toronto’s Ultimate Travel Show was held on Jan. 26 and 27 at the Direct Energy Centre in Exhibition Place.  The Visit Japan booth, organized by the Toronto office of the Japan National Tourism Organization, featured representation by the City of Tokyo Tourism, JTB International, Kintetsu International, Japan Airlines, Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau and others.

The Travel Show is the biggest annual tourism event in Toronto, and attendance totalled approximately 12,000 people over two days. The opening ceremony for the Visit Japan booth on the main stage featured Consul-General of Japan Eiji Yamamoto’s presentation on Japanese tourist attractions, as well as performances by the Sakuramai dance troupe and the Nagata Shachu taiko drum group.  The booth, the presentation and performances all met with great success, judging from the reaction of attendants.
