Consul-General Attends Opening of the 2016 Toronto Japanese Film Festival

On June 9, Consul-General of Japan Yasunori Nakayama attended and gave remarks at the opening of the Toronto Japanese Film Festival organized by the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. Approximately 500 people attended the screening of Nagasaki: Memories of My Son, which opened the festival.
"This Festival has become an important annual cultural event which introduces films that have recently gathered attention in Japan to audiences here in Toronto, a city known for its love of cinema," the Consul-General said in his remarks. "Because of its contributions toward deepening friendship between Japan and Canada and our commitments to peace, the Consulate-General of Japan is most pleased to be a continuing supporter of this Festival."
The Toronto Japanese Film Festival runs through June 23.
