Contestants Showcase Their Language Skills at the 32nd Annual Ontario Japanese Speech Contest

The 32nd Ontario Japanese Speech Contest was held on March 8 in the University of Toronto’s Medical Science Building.  Thirty-two contestants from the U of T, York University, University of Waterloo, McMaster University, Western University, the Toronto Japanese Language School as well as other institutions showcased their language skills in a heated competition.  Top winners from the beginner, intermediate and advanced categories will take part in the National Japanese Speech Contest (Canada) taking place in Ottawa on March 29.

 

The Ontario contest was made possible by The Ontario Japanese Speech Contest Organizing Committee, the Consulate General of Japan, the Japan Foundation, Toronto as well as the sponsorship of 25 Japanese businesses.
