Calligraphy Competition Celebrates Form and Substance
The Sixth Annual Japanese Calligraphy Competition in Canada 2013 Exhibit Opening and Award Presentation was held on November 10 (Sun.) at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. The exhibit will remain at the JCCC’s Gallery until November 23 (Sat.)

The exhibit, supported by the Consulate General of Japan, is organized annually by Shodo Canada represented by Ms. Noriko Maeda. The competition is open to anyone interested in calligraphy. Now in its sixth year, the competition this time drew a record 172 entries from across Canada. The works were mounted on scrolls in Japan and filled the space with their beauty.
