MIT's Richard Samuels Kicks Off JAPAN NOW Lecture Series at U of T
Dr. Richard Samuels, MIT's Ford International Professor of Political Science and
Director of the Center for International Studies,
gives his presentation "Unbundling Japan's Grand Strategy" .
On Sept. 25, an internationally renowned scholar on contemporary Japan kicked off the JAPAN NOW Lecture Series presented jointly by the University of Toronto’s Asian Institute of the Munk School of Global Affairs, and the Consulate-General of Japan. Dr. Richard Samuels, MIT's Ford International Professor of Political Science and Director of the Center for International Studies, gave a presentation entitled "Unbundling Japan's Grand Strategy", which gave an overview of changes in Japan’s security policies from the postwar period through to the present and into possibilities for the future. The presentation was made to a full house with over 100 in attendance.
