Viewing Cherry Blossoms at the Official Residence of the Consul-General
Guests enjoyed the last remaining cherry blossoms of the season over Japanese wine, beer and sake on April 27 when a reception to view Sakura (Japanese flowering cherry) trees was held at the official residence of Consul-General Eiji Yamamoto. This gathering was organized in cooperation with the Japan National Tourism Organization, and gathered representatives from the local distributors of Japanese alcoholic products. as well as travel agents and an airline companies. Guests as well as members of media specializing in travel were given a taste of Japanese beverages and food, and were exposed to various appealing facets of travel to Japan. In attendance were Member of Parliament Mike Wallace, Toronto City Councillor Mary-Margaret McMahon and internationally celebrated novelist Margaret Atwood.
