On Oct. 3, the Consulate-General of Japan participated in the annual East Asian Festival at Renison University College in Waterloo, Ontario. The fashion theme this year enchanted the audience with contemporary and traditional fashion from Japan, Korea and China. Twenty-two models from the Toronto Kimono Club (TKC), presented by the Consulate-General, displayed the beautiful traditional and modern Kimono and Yukata from Japan. The Consulate-General's booth was busy with people trying out traditional omocha, asking questions about the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme as well as putting on Yukata at the “Try-on Booth”.

Co-founder of the Toronto Kimono Club, Erica Pai (far right), provided commentary
as the models came up on stage to show their Kimono and Yukata.
