Reception Honours Students Visiting Earthquake-affected
Areas on the KIZUNA Project

On Feb. 22, the Consul-General of Japan in Toronto, Mr. Eiji Yamamoto, hosted a reception for 22 representatives from Malvern Collegiate Institute (20 students and two chaperones), who will visit Japan in March to take part in a youth exchange program in support of Japan’s recovery after the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011.
Among the 60 guests in attendance were: Mr. Matthew Kellway、Member of Parliament and parent of one of the students; Ms.Mary-Margaret McMahon, Toronto City Councillor; representatives from the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Toronto District Board; parents of the students as well as Ms. Line Pinard, the Principal of Malvern Collegiate Institute.
