Kampai Toronto Sake Event Livens Up the Distillery District
The sake promotional event Kampai Toronto opened on May 29 at the Distillery District with the support of the Consulate General of Japan. Consul General Eiji Yamamoto gave the opening remarks to this event now in its third year, with participation by 32 breweries from Japan and North America as well as 14 restaurants and izakaya.
The venue was filled to capacity with over 700 sake connoisseurs and representatives on the restaurant industry in attendance to enjoy the wide variety of sake .available.

The Sake Institute of Ontario (SIO), which organized this event, is a not-for-profit trade organization of Ontario-based sake distributors and manufacturers with the principal objective of educating and promoting the responsible consumption and enjoyment of sake. In addition the Kampai Toronto, the SIO organizes the Toronto International Sake Challenge and Ontario’s participation in Sake Day.
