The JET booth at Go Global Expo
Recruitment has begun for next year’s Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme, a Japanese Government programme which invites youths from around the world to Japan to assist in language education and other internationalization activities. (Because the aim of this programme is to promote international exchange, Japanese nationals are not permitted to apply.)
To kick off the recruitment activities, the Consulate-General of Japan participated in Go Global Expo on Sept. 22 and 23, a trade fair focusing on international study, work and volunteer programs. Many Canadian youths in attendance visited the JET Programme booth.
The application deadline for next year’s JET Programme is Nov. 30. Those interested can apply from the website below. An extensive selection process, including an interview, will follow. Participants accepted onto the programme will undergo orientation and will be travelling to Japan next summer. The term of the contract is one year but this can be renewed and extended.
