Hamilton Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre Opens Doors for Japan Day

On Sept. 23, the Hamilton Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre (CJCC) held a Japan Day Open House to showcase Japanese culture.

The Consulate-General of Japan enthusiastically provided support for this event by arranging such attractions as a taiko drum concert, yosakoi folk dancing, kimono fittings assisted by volunteers, fishing for yo-yo's, origami, calligraphy and a desk providing information on Japan.

This was the first time the Consulate-General of Japan has participated in this event. Attendance was reportedly 40% more than the previous year. The Consulate-General of Japan intends to continue supporting regional events featuring Japan, further promoting appreciation of Japanese culture.
