Japan Day at the Hamilton Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre
On Saturday September 19, the Consulate-General of Japan participated in the annual Japan Day and Open House at the Hamilton Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre. Various Japanese traditional arts that are taught at the centre were enthusiastically demonstrated by students and instructors; martial arts (aikido, iaido, judo, karate and kendo); traditional dance or odori; and ikebana. The Consulate-General of Japan presented the performance by 11 dancers from the Yosakoi Sakuramai Dance Group, which brought smiles to the audience who were packed in the gym.
