Japan Comes to the Hamilton Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre
On Sunday, Sept. 7, the Consulate General of Japan participated in the annual Japan Day and Open House at the Hamilton Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre. There were thrilling martial arts demonstrations as well as traditional Japanese odori performance. Along with a Japan booth, this year the Consulate General presented Isshin Daiko from Toronto whose thundering performance was very well received. The afternoon program opened with Shi Shi Mai (Lion dance) accompanied with Shinobue by Tokiko Narula of Dokon Daiko.
