Consul General Attends
the Canadian Association for Japanese Language Education (CAJLE)
Annual Conference 2013
The Canadian Association for Japanese Language Education (CAJLE) began its Annual Conference 2013 at the University of Toronto on Aug. 22 with Consul General of Japan Eiji Yamamoto attending the opening. This year marked the 25th year that this conference and accompanying workshops were held.

The theme this milestone year was “Assessing ‘proficiency’: Teachers’ roles in supporting students’ learning.’ Over 150 attendants gathered from eight countries including Japan, the US and China to attend this event to be held until Aug. 24.

Consul General Yamamoto in his remarks extended congratulations for the anniversary, and commended the educators who devote endless effort toward the promotion and education of the Japanese language.
A book fair held on site made educational materials available.
CAJLE is a organization made up of Japanese language educators in Canada, founded in 1988 by University of Toronto Professor Emeritus Kazuko Nakajima, a pioneer in the field of bilingual education. The annual conference and workshops are held each year, rotating among various regions in Canada.
