Tourism Presentations a Big Draw at Anime North
On May 22, the Consulate-General of Japan organized presentations by Ms. Tanya Gardecky and Mr. Geoffrey Greig on anime-related tourism in Japan as part of this year’s Anime North convention in Toronto. Over 150 anime enthusiasts were in attendance to hear about contemporary Japan.
Anime North, in the 19 years since its start in 1996, has grown to become Canada’s largest Japanese pop-culture event. Held over three days in May every year at the Toronto Congress Centre, this year’s convention took place from May 22 through 24 and attracted 30,000 people a day.
