Consul-General Nakayama Attends Ceremony Commemorating
The 10th Anniversary of Hino Motors Canada's Woodstock Facility

On April 8, Consul-General of Japan Yasunori Nakayama attended the ceremony in Woodstock, Ontario, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the establishment the Hino Motors Canada facility there.

 

The ceremony was attended by Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch and Mr. Ray Tanguay, Auto Advisor for Canada and Ontario, as well as Hino Motors Board Chairman Masakazu Ichikawa and representatives of the company from Japan, the US and Woodstock who gathered for the celebration.

 

Consul-General Nakayama in his remarks noted that Hino’s mid-sized truck production accounts for 1/3 of Canada’s domestic market share.  He said Hino is an important source of employment in Woodstock, as well as a responsible corporate community member, making social contributions to the region.   He also expressed his hope for the company’s continued and new successes in the future.
